Saint-Lary ski resort has grown from an authentic Pyreneen village in 1957, bordering Spain and nestled in the Pyrenees National Park, and is one of the 10 Eco Friendly ski resorts in France.
The resort has three different stations at 1700, 1900 and 2400. The terrain is mostly very open and with plenty of room in-between pistes to please the powder hounds. The resort also has a snow park and a half pipe to offer. There are over 200 snow cannons to ensure perfect conditions everyday of the season, and for the 2010/2011 season the resort has installed a new bubble lift. As well as skiing and snowboarding, there are loads of other winter activities on offer. Saint -Lary also is the home of the Patou dog, also known as the Pyreneen Mountain Dog, plus it is very active in the re-introduction of Pyreneen Brown Bears, and has an excellent facility where visitors can learn more about this threatened species, and also meet two genuine Pyreneen Bears.
