In the peak of the summer you can rent a board and wetsuit (if you need one) right on the beach at many of the breaks. For the rest of the summer, and the year, there are many shops offering you a better deal, whether you want to try a shortboard, longboard or bodyboard, or if you want structured lessons, there are plenty to chose from. L'Esquiro Surf Shop, Capbreton
This is the sister shop to the one in Seignosse, but cheaper! They stock O'Neill wetsuits and NSP boards which you can rent out, as well as O'Neill clothing if you want to update your wardrobe.

Little Hawaii, Capbreton
Right next to the beach in Capbreton, Little Hawaii offers complete lesson packages for most levels and board and wetsuit hire. The lessons run for 2 hours, and you can have just one, or you can have a lesson each day of your holiday. The times of the lessons depend on the tide, so its worth checking the times if you're planning your day.
Prices:
A 2 hour lesson : 35 € (includes board and wetsuit hire, and insurance)
A 5 day course of 2 hour lessons : 135 €

Surftrip, Plage Sud, Hossegor
Open for most of the year, Surftrip is located at one of the most gentle breaks in the area, so ideal for learning and developing those surfing skills. Here you can rent BIC shortboards, mini mals and longboards as well as bodyboards and wetsuits. You can also have lessons with these guys, and their groups are never more than 8, so you get plenty of tuition. You can also have private lessons (for 1 to 3 people). The times of lessons will be determined by the tide, so check before you plan your day.
