Medina wins at Snapper Rocks!

I am not sure why I find this result so surprising, somehow along the way last year I guess I kind of forgot about Garbriel Medina.
Even though he made the finals in the Quiksilver Pro France against Kelly and had a string of not bad results, the hype of the Kelly vs Mick at Pipeline just erased Garbriel as a contender in my mind. Well he has certainly got everyones attention now.
Congrats to Garbriel, he was able to beat Joel Parkinson in the last few minuets of the final at his home break of Snapper Rocks, but not only that but also managed to beat Mick Fanning and Taj Barrows along the way. His road to the final was in no way an easy one.
Where does that leave things, well its a bit early to start talking world titles but with the next event on tour starting in 3 weeks which is the Margret River Pro, we soon will.
It will be one to watch for sure and I will be looking to see who makes a move, the blood is in the water so to speak.
