With everyones attention firmly on Gabriel Medina, Kelly Slater, Mick and Joel and with 3 out of 4 of these falling in the Quarterfinals the door was left open for the Tahitian.known as the 'spartan'.
Michael Bourez romped through the opposition with huge open face power carves and precision timing to beat Australian Josh Kerr in the finals. A big congrats to the Tahitian on his first and I am sure not his last world tour win.
As the Margaret River comp comes to an end everyone is getting fired up for the next stop on tour which will take place at Bells Beach Australia and kicks off on the 16th April.
