Wow, who would have called that to happen, Gabriel Medina and Kelly Slater both going out in Round 3 of the Rip Curl Pro Peniche?
Mick Fanning and Jordy Smith looked like the most in-form surfers of the comp and made it through to the finals in a bizarre heat where Jordy only just got 2 waves in and Mick managed to clinch the win.
What does this mean for the world title race, well in short it means that we will have a Pipeline conclusion much the same as the year previous. The players that are still in the game are Medina, Fanning, Slater and John John Florence.
It still looks like its Medinas to loose right now as he has a 3000 point lead over fanning and a 6000 point lead over Slater.
I am not sure I can wait to see what happens, bring on December and lets pray for some big big Pipeline.
