Beaches in the Capbreton and Hossegor area will be supervised from now on. Lifeguards will be out on the "centrale" beach in Capbreton, the "south" beach in Hossegor and "le Penon" in Seignosse from 12-6.30pm. Other beaches will soon follow suit.
Just as a reminder, in France, you must bathe between the two blue flags. Obviously surfers ride outside of this zone and if you accidently enter the area you'll hear the whistle keen the keen lifeguards or you'll see them flapping their flippers for attention.
The green flag indicates no particular hasards,
The yellowy-orange means bathing is dangerous but there are lifeguards at hand.
Red means that bathing is stricly forbidden however you can surf at your own risk, it's advisable not to go out alone though.
